Important notes for the replacement of the cable from GP2000/77R/70 series to GP3000 series *Be sure to read here.
When replacing the hardware from GP2000/77R/70 series to GP3000 series, there are important notes shown below.
● Supported devices
The notations of address are different between GP-PRO/PB3 and GP-Pro EX as below.
GP-PRO/PB3
GP-Pro EX
I,Q,F
I0007
I000.7
DB (Bit Address)
D002000F
DB002.DBX000.15
DB (Word Address)
D002000
DB002.DBW000
X (Bit Address)
X002000F
X002.XBX000.15
X (Word Address)
X002000
X002.XBW000
● Writing Bits
With GP-PRO/PB3, the method to write bits differs depending on the GP series that you use.
With GP-Pro EX, the method to write bits is same as "Excepting GP30 Series in GP-PRO/PB3".
[GP30 Series in GP-PRO/PB3]
*
When the bit write operation, excepting Reverse, is performed, the corresponding word address will set all the bits but for the designated bits to 0.
[Excepting GP30 Series in GP-PRO/PB3]
*When the bit write operation is performed, the GP reads the corresponding word address of PLC, turns a bit ON and send it back to PLC. Please note that the data may not be written properly if the data is written into the word address with the ladder program while the GP reads the data and returns it to PLC.
● Warning messages of [Project Conveter]
When a project file of GP-PRO/PB3 will be converted by [Project converter], these messages will show in following cases.
Message
Description
An unsupported setting for SIO Type has been selected. The default setting "RS232C" has been selected.
Only "RS232C" is supported for SIO Type. If "RS422 (2-wire) or "RS422 (4-wire) is selected, the setting will be changed to "RS232C".
An unsupported setting for Flow Control has been selected. The default setting "NONE" has been selected.Only "NONE" is supported for Flow Control. The setting will be changed to "NONE".
An unsupported setting "7" for Data Length has been selected. The default setting "8" has been selected.Only "8" is supported for Data Length. If " 7" is selected for Data Length, the setting will be changed to "8".
An unsupported setting for Speed has been selected. The default setting "9600" has been selected.Only "9600" is supported for Speed. If another rate is selected, the setting will be changed to "9600".
An unsupported setting for Parity has been selected. The default setting "Even" has been selected.Only "Even" is supported for Parity. If "Odd" or "NONE" is selected, the setting will be changed to "Even".
An unsupported setting "2" for Stop Bit has been selected. The default setting "1" has been selected.Only "1" is supported for Stop Bit. If "2" is selected, the setting will be changed to "1".
Extended Data Block 0['X000'] is not supported. Please check the project. The range of Expanded Data Block device address is between "X001.XBW000" and "X255.XBW255". However, it is possible to input the range between "X000.XBW000" (displayed "X000000" with GP-PRO/PB3) and "X255.XBW255"before GP-PRO/PB3. Therefore, if the address of Expanded Data Block 0 ("X000***") is converted, an error message will appear.
