Description for RoHS Directive
(1) RoHS Directive
RoHS directive is an abbreviation for "The Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment". The first RoHS directive was promulgated in 2002 and was fully revised in 2011.
- RoHS 1 (2002/95 / EC): Started applying on July 1, 2006
- RoHS 2 (2011/65 / EU): July 1, 2011 EU Gazette, effective July 21, 2011
(2) Scope
Regulated products under the revised RoHS Directive (2011/65 / EU) are newly categorized as "other electrical and electronic devices" in addition to the ten controlled categories of the old RoHS Directive (2002/95 / EC).
As a result of this amendment, all electrical and electronic equipment with rated voltage, AC (alternating current) of 1,000 volts or less or DC (direct current) and 1,500 volts or less are all subject to the revised RoHS Directive.

Except for some FA computers, Pro-face products fall under "9: Monitoring and control instruments". The case that customer sells your products with Pro-face embedded, category depends on your products, not the embedded Pro-face product.

It shall be noted that above maximum concentration values apply to each homogeneous substance rather than a product or a part itself. A homogeneous substance means substance of uniform composition throughout that cannot be mechanically separated into different substances.
(3) Grace Periods: Restriction of Phthalates under RoHS
DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP are primarily used as plasticizers to soften plastics. These will be restricted from 22 July 2019 for all electrical and electronic equipment.
However, Category 8 and Category 9 will be restricted from 22 July 2021.
